Halloween 2015

Wesley is one!

Most of the pictures of Wesley are from behind while he is playing.  If he sees me with a camera he immediately stops what he is doing to investigate what I am doing.

What a difference a year makes!  At one Wesley loves to laugh, play with his brother by chasing him around the house, dance by bouncing up and down, and eat carrots.

Kindergarten!

10 months old!  At 10 months Wesley loves to eat fruits, vegetables, veggie straws, and drink water.  He still likes to chew on anything and everything.  He is a very happy baby and loves his big brother.  He will take a few steps if he's holding onto something or someone and is trying to stand without holding onto anything.

First day of kindergarten!  It was very humid this morning so my camera lens fogged up a bit when we first went out.

Taking pictures of each other!  Dan went into work late so that he could walk with us on the first day of school.

In front of the school there is a line for each of the different classes to line up on.  I got Calvin to his line, said have fun, and we waved to each other.  I moved back a bit to get out of the way of all the picture takers (other parents) and was promptly told by Calvin "Okay Mom you can go now."  I guess he was ready to get on with kindergarten!

He's growing up!

Anyone remember when Calvin was this small?  Me neither.

8 and 9 months

9 months.  At 9 months Wesley is 30.5 inches long and weighs 25 pounds.  He is in the 99th percentile for both height and weight.  Translation: he is longer and heavier than 99% of other babies his age.  Pretty sure the pediatricians office uses a chart based on formula fed babies so I'm not sure how he would stack up weight wise if they used the mom's milk chart.
On his 9 month out in the open anniversary Wesley pulled himself up and stood holding onto the couch.  Calvin and I were in the kitchen when he did it for the first time but we did see him standing before he did a face plant onto a pillow.

Hard to tell in this picture but this is a picture of Calvin's first black eye.  He was playing baseball and ran into another kid's head.  Ouch.
Wesley's first bike ride.  Still a bit too little (8 months) so we will have to wait before we take him on a 20 miler.

8 months.  Loves to chew, eat Kix, and laugh.

Like sand through an hour glass...

First day of preschool 2014
                                                           Last day of preschool 2015

Riding the cart Dan built down the hill in the backyard.
 Pushing cart back up hill.
Punching baby (baby is doing the punching not being punched).

There are a number of houses for sale in our neighborhood right now.  Calvin wanted to know if the brown house across the street is going to be for sale when he is an adult so that he can live there.  Apparently he wants to live close to Dan and I when he's an adult but wants to have is own house.  Good thing because he really wants a dog and as you all know I do not like dogs.  Tonight at dinner we were talking about the different schools in our town and how college comes after high school.  Calvin seemed impressed that you can go to college any where in the world and study whatever you want to study.  He also seemed to be under the impression that we will be going with him to college.  I'll ask him again in a few years if he still wants us along!

Spring

7 months old!  Wesley has his first tooth and more on the way.  His favorite foods are mango, pears, mango and pears mixed, sweet potatoes, sweet potatoes mixed with mangoes, and squash.  He loves to laugh at his brother and once the two of them get going it's hard to stop!  He also likes to bang his cup on the tray of his highchair just for the fun of it.  He loves to roll over and find toys that babies shouldn't play with such as Hotwheels cars.  He isn't crawling yet but he can pull himself along and get to toys that are just beyond his reach.  He loves taking walks and laughs when the wind blows in his face.  He loves to be read to and starts laughing and kicking his legs when books are brought out.  He likes to turn the pages of books but doesn't like it when he closes the book on his fingers.  He also likes to chew on books and just about anything else he can get his hands on.

First day of the t-ball season.  Dan is coaching Calvin's team this year.
Garden volcano built by Calvin and one of our neighbor kids.
 Easter eggs found!
Wesley and Dan on the hunt for eggs.
Calvin setting out to search for eggs.  Yes, that is a Halloween pumpkin.  No, he does not want a traditional Easter basket.
 Dying eggs with neighbor friend.
Animals are ready for a trip north.
 5 months!

 6 months!
